2025년 재외동포 초청 장학생 모집(2025 Overseas Korean Student Scholarship Program)

1. 개요

우수한 동포인재의 모국 수학을 지원함으로써 동포사회는 물론 거주국과 모국간 상생 발전에 기여할 수 있는 글로벌 인재 육성

2. 사업목적

ㅇ 선발 인원: 80명(학사 00명, 석․ 박사 00명, 과정별 선발 인원은 추후 확정 예정)
ㅇ 지원 내역
  - 생활비(매월 110만원), 최초입국 ․ 최종출국 항공료, 논문인쇄비(50만원), 보험료(질병, 상해, 사고) 등
  - 장학생 역사문화체험, 멘토링 활동 지원, 지역별 네트워크활동 지원, OKFriends 활동 지원 등 국내외 동포간 교류활동기회 제공

3. 선발대상

ㅇ 거주국 국적 또는 영주권 취득자 또는 대한민국 국적을 보유한 재외동포로서
  - 지원 직전과정까지의 모든 교육과정을 해외에서 이수 또는 이수 예정인자
  - 2025년 9월 학기, 2026년 3월 학기 국내 대학(원) 입학 예정자
    ※ 단, 2025년 3월 국내 대학(원)에 이미 입학하여 재학 중인 자는 지원 가능
  - 학사: 만25세 미만(’00.9.2 이후 출생), 석‧박사 만40세 미만(’85.9.2 이후 출생)

ㅇ 한국에서 장기간 유학이 가능한 심신이 건강한 자

ㅇ 필수사항

  - 동포사회 및 거주국과 모국의 상생 발전에 기여할 인재로서의 자질을 갖춘 자 중 성적 우수자

ㅇ 우대사항
  - 유공동포 후손 및 동포사회 발전에 기여한 재외동포 후손(증빙)
  - 경제 여건 곤란자(증빙 또는 공관 확인)
  - 한국어 능력 우수자(성적확인)
  - 이공계 분야, 한국 관련 분야 전공자(증빙시)
  - 소외지역 및 취약동포 배려(입양동포, 입양동포 자녀, 동남아 다문화 가정 등)(증빙시)

4. 일정 및 기간

ㅇ 3.7.(금)~4.7(월): 지원자, 지원 신청서를 온라인(코리안넷) 접수 후 공관 제출(~4/7일 공관 도착)
 ※ 코리안넷(www.korean.net)을 통해 온라인 신청서 접수 후, 출력하여 서명한 신청서 및 기타서류와 함께 관할 공관에 제출

ㅇ 신청방법: 온라인신청서 작성, 출력 후 거주국 공관 제출(기존에 선발되었던 장학생 외에는 국내 제출 불가)

Registration for Overseas Korean Student Scholarship

Cultivating global leaders who can contribute themselves to the development and cooperation not only to their residence of country but also their home country by supporting great human resources to study in their country

1. Overview

○ Finalists: 80 students (00 Bachelor's, 00 Master's and Ph.D.)
○ Support:
- Living expenses (KRW 1,100,000 per month), one round ticket for the first flight, cost for printing thesis  (KRW 500,000), insurances(disease, injuries, accidents),etc.

- Providing students with exchange activities with overseas Koreans in Korea and abroad, Korean history and  culture experience, mentoring support, 

  network activities supported by regions, OKFriends activities support, etc.

2. Eligibility

○ Overseas Koreans with overseas permanent residency or citizenship or overseas Koreans with Korean nationality
- Expected to complete all the educations abroad before the application
- Expected to attend an university in Korea in Fall semester(Sep.) in 2025 or Spring semester(Mar.) in 2026 
※  A person who already admitted to and currently attends a university as of Mar. 2025 is eligible to apply
for this program.

○ Required: Honor students who have great potential to contribute to the development of overseas Korean communities, their country of residence, and their home country
○ Priority:
- Descendants of notable overseas Koreans and descendants of overseas Koreans who contributed 
themselves to the development of overseas Korean society (related documentation needed)
- Financially disadvantaged persons (related documentation needed or checked by public office)
- Major in Science, Engineering, or Korea
- Korean adoptees or children of Korean adoptees abroad
- Children from multicultural families in Southeast Asia
- Fluent speaker of the Korean language (test results needed) 

3. Registration

○ Mar. 7-Apr. 7: Submission of application    

- Submit online application(www.korean.net)  form 

- Send the printed online application form and other records to the public office of your country of residence 

※ The application must be submitted to the public office by April 7

○ Apr–May: Review of application form by the center, interview
○ Jun: Review and selection by the center, followed by announcement of results
